China’s International Relations
Dr Chris Ogden (University of St Andrews)

As China rises to prominence globally, what kind of impact will it have on international relations and the international system as a whole? In turn, what kind of power does it wish to be? Through the use of both contemporary and historical perspectives, this lecture will assess China’s ongoing significance, analyse its current trajectory and highlight key issues which its leaders and people must face over the coming decades. Dr Chris Ogden is Lecturer in Asian Security at the School of International Relations, University of St Andrews. His research interests concern the relationship between national identity, security and domestic politics in East Asia (primarily China) and South Asia (primarily India).

The Confucius Institute public talks are free and open to all. There is no need to book, just come along on the day.
