Urban Naturalist – Natural twine bird houses – Sat 23 Feb

February 15, 2013

The next Urban Naturalist is on Saturday 23 Jan, from 2-4pm and it’s to make Natural Twine Bird Houses.

Discover the ancient technique of twine-making using natural fibres, with artist Lucy Burscough. The basis of basket-making, netting and a wide variety of crafts from many cultures, your twine can be worked up to produce a bird feeder or wren-house. This workshop runs alongside the ‘Looping and Linking’ installation, on display outside the Museum, which was inspired by the grass-weaving work of Scottish ‘outsider artist’, Angus McPhee.

Book on 0161 275 2648 or museum@manchester.ac.uk, £3, adults
