Bioblitz in whitworth park, friday 5 & sat 6 july

On Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July there is going to be a mini Bioblitz in Whitworth Park. The park is currently the location for an archaeology and history project – there is a community archaeology dig taking place from 1 July to Friday 12 July. The project has been running since 2011 and also included surveys of the wildlife in the park.

Our friends from the Grey to Green project, run by the Greater Manchester Record Centre will be joining museum curators for the following activities.

Friday 5 July

8.00 pm small mammal trap setting

9.30pm Bat walk and moth trap setting

Saturday 6 July

7am Small mammal and moth trap collecting

7 am Bird Survey

11am Plant Survey
