Big Saturday: Bees and Butterflies 10 August 11am to 4pm

Manchester Museum now has it’s very own bee hive on the roof. There are beehives across the city, including on the roof of Manchester Art Gallery.Our next Big Saturday is all themed on Bees and Butterflies, with activities linked with their important role in pollination. Between 11am and 4pm you’ll be able to find out more about the Manchester Museum bee hive, take part in the Butterfly conservation Trust butterfly count and meet the BumbleBee Conservation Trust.

Imagine yourself in a museum of the future where specimens of flora, fauna,

botany, are frozen in time…

All bees have died…

No flowers… No pollen… No bees…

Jade will be on hand to create paper and plasticine flowers and bees with families and adults.
