Urban Naturalist: Plant dyes and Manchester Craft Mafia Christmas Fair – Saturday 30 November

November 29, 2013

Join us at the Museum on Saturday for two events – Museum Meets Urban Naturalist and Manchester Craft Mafia Christmas Fair.

Urban Naturalist: Plant dyes

From onion skins to teabags, madder roots to marigolds, expert dyer and textile artist Debbie Tomkies will be showing you some of the beautiful colours you can achieve with common items from your kitchen and garden. Try your hand at creating your own piece of naturally dyed fabric using plants, roots and garden waste (Debbie will even be showing you how to put those dreaded dandelions to good use!).

Urban Naturalist is a series of friendly, practical workshops run by leading naturalists. From wild food-foraging and composting to bird song and insect identification, explore biodiversity on our doorstep.

Book on 0161 275 2648 or museum@manchester.ac.uk, £3
