Wonder – People United

June 23, 2014

Wonder at Manchester Museum

We’re really excited to be working with People United on an exciting project called Wonder. People United are a fascinating organisation who are interested in the role arts can play in creating a more kind and caring society.

At the Museum we were delighted to be chosen to work with People United on one of their artist’s commissions. Wonder was our word – ‘Definitions of wonder encompass feelings of amazement, as well as feelings of curiosity and doubt. It can also refer to a spectacle, a miracle or remarkable person. We are interested and curious in how such feelings or things might inspire us to work towards a more sustainable world’

The Museum will be working with theatre maker Daniel Bye, musician Boff Whalley and director and curator Sarah Punshon on Wonderstruck – which is a large, scale participatory performance in the Museum.

Daniel, Sarah and Boff with theatre maker Josh Coates spent a week in the Museum and you can check out Daniel’s blog about the week here.
